Ideally 2 bottles, 1 with cool water in it, the other frozen (perfect timing for thaw 2nd half of the day walking back up the hill which is hotter).

Please also make sure kids have a full breakfast, and drink lots of water before coming. (we have plenty of water for refills) Also, typically from the swim and walk back to the dojo the kids are already dry and stay in their swim shorts and rashies, but some do like a change of clothes so that could be packed as extra if they prefer it. We have 2 changing rooms.

  • The camp kicks off at 10am. We start the camp with 2 hours of Jiu-Jitsu self-defense training. Half of our camp students are total beginners so we make sure the technique of the day is something that everyone can learn.

At 1200 we have an early lunch which we bring into the dojo and eat on the mats, or we walk to a local restaurant both with choices for lunch for the fussiest of eaters.

At 1245, we have the kids insure they have applied sunscreen and topped up water bottles, their things, and any fruit they want to select for the journey as a snack and we walk to various locations around El Toro for fun. For example, we like hiking near the El Toro Spit, or the ‘Rocky Cove’ for marine wildlife collecting, free climbing over the water, and of course cliff jumping! (“cliffs” are only about 2-3 meters high.

At about 1430 we make our way back to the dojo by walking and have some chill time drawing/painting and listing to chill beats on the speaker or it´s a great time to take a nap on the cushions. It´s a quiet time for light chat and relaxation. At no time during the camp are phones or tablets allowed out.

At 1615 we start to clean up and after that, we go next door to the ice cream place where kids can pick out one scoop of ice cream which is included. Other than any fruit they choose to eat this is the only sugar the kids ingest for the duration of the day all drinks are always water.

Parents will pick up kids at the ice cream shop by 1630 and those that are driving back on the rideshare to Palma leave with the camp instructors driving.
